fall down/upon

Portuguese
''A mango fell _____ the ground.''
A-Into
B-Onto
C-Upon
D-Down.
I saw this here: http://prntscr.com/dciv3d
I personally think it is ''upon the ground''(because after it falls, it physically is on/upon the ground), but a lot of people say ''down the ground''.
Thanks in advance.
Definitely "onto" but you can also say "down to" but not just "down", upon, not so much.
