One staff member informed before the release of the e-mail said that the decision was also related to a long-running conflict between Mr. Westin and the management of the network, including ABC’s parent company,
Walt Disney, over the
of the news division.---taken from the

Dear all,
What does mean here? Thanks.
LQZ
It means (see definition A 2
here).
For example, if you wanted to know the financial status of a company, you could also ask: "Where does the company stand financially?". The word "financially" tells the listener that you're not asking for the geographical position, but rather a position on the profit/loss scale.
In your particular example, Mr. Westin and the management have conflicting opinions on the health of the News Division (from a financial point-of-view).
Cheers,
Abba
