Hi there, do you find the use of "for e.g." strange?

Prepaid air-conditioning units are programmed into room key cards, deducted while in use and can be split up over the entire period of stay. For e.g. should you purchase 12-hours for use over a 2 night stay, if you only use 6 hours on the 1st night of your stay, you have a balance of 6 hours for use on the 2nd night of your stay.

I'd use either for example or e.g. Do you agree?
I find it 'erroneous' rather than 'strange', Ken. I expect the writer imagines that e.g. means 'example'.

Yes, I think that is why I noticed it immediately.
E.g. = for example.
Therefore, in your sentence, the author is basically saying "for for example". This is the reason why it sounds erroneous - it is! 👁 Smile :)
