I heard the word "glib" could be translated as "charlatán", is that correct? could the phrase "I was just being glib" be translated as "sólo hablaba por hablar?" What do you think?

Yo diría que "solo hablaba por hablar" sería algo como "he just talked to hear the sound of his own voice"
