Go ahead

Hi, I know "go ahead" is a idiom meaning proceed or give a permission, but can it simply mean keep going ahead?
For example, say, I was stopped by somebody in a corridor and he/she asked me where the stairs is, can I response him/her 'go ahead, you'll find it'?

"Keep going ahead" or just "keep going" would probably be more natural.
You can say "go <direction", like "go left, go right, go straight". In that way you can say "go straight ahead". But not simply "go ahead".

We use the expressions "ahead of you" (in front of you) and "behind you", but they are not exact directions. They are very vague. So you cannot tell someone to "go" there.
Thank you all !
