Can I say ' good spec' in the following sentence?

Many students go to high-ranking universities because they think it will be a for them. In other words, they think they get advantages when they go to high-ranking universities.
It doesn't mean anything to me. If you hadn't explained, I wouldn't have known what you wanted to say.
I agree, it makes no sense in this context.

The only context in which I know the term 'sped' is when it means 'specification' – the requirements or details of a job/project or product.

You could buy a car with a high spec (rather than 'good' spec), meaning it is very good quality and has lots of extras.

You could receive a task with a high (rather than good) spec, meaning that the task must be completed to a very high standard.
