Hello,

I have a question for people living in the States about the word "gravy", Merriam-Webster says that it is "a sauce made from the juices of cooked meat" and Wikipedia says that is it "a sauce, made often from the juices that run naturally from meat or vegetables during cooking".

I want to know if now gravy is also the juices from vegetables or if gravy should be strictly used for the juices from the meat?

Thanks.

No, vegetables have juices or liquid; only meat has gravy. I would translate it as el jugo de la carne or una salsa [hecha] del jugo de la carne.

Gracias fenixpollo. Wikipedia: making people doubt since 2001.
