I am not sure whether this sentence is right. Especially "guiding path".

The necessity to establish a dialogue with other areas of knowledge is the STS´s guiding path to examine science.

I mean by that that one only discipline cannot be successful examining science (the subject matter). STS then is a interdisciplinary field and therefore it promotes a dialogue between disciplines.

"Guiding path" sounds odd to me.
Moreover, one normally has a "dialogue" with people, not with "areas."

I strongly suggest you not try to emulate the stilted gibberish of some academics and just write plain English.

thanks a lot for suggestions. Yes, my second explanation is always better. I try to write difficult sentences and it is misleading. You are right, those who have English as second or third language should writte always plain English
