C'est "the most successful application of theory to practice"? Or the most lucky?

Merci beaucoup d'avance!
I would agree with "successful." Perhaps the most literal way to translate this would be to say "the most felicitous application..." Remember that in French "heureux" still has the sense of "lucky, fortunate, turning out well" that the English word "happy" used to have but has now lost.
Hi!

It is definitely not "happy". To know if it was "sucessful" or "lucky", we must know what he exactly did. Did he find something by chance? Or did he a very clever application of a theory?
Thanks for your answers guys - and sorry for taking so long to reply! It is certainly good to know it probably means successful (I would doubt it means lucky). Would you say 'the most successful application of theory in practice' then?
