Hello,
this is a hard one, I think, so...👁 Warn :warn:

when a girl talk about herself and say "I'm an incidental scumbag", what does that exacly mean? What could she mean? does it mean scumbag as sperm bag or like shit bag which is the best translation for scumbag in french... (and that's what i'm looking for...translation!)
Dictionary.com defines "scumbag" as "a mean, despicable person". I'm not sure why this girl is using the word "incidental" (or why she's describing herself this way at all!).👁 Frown :(
ok, scumbag could be a mean person, right. But what does incidental has to do here...? I don't understand!!

I can't imagine why she uses the word "incidental", Smallseb. In the context of the sentence, it just doesn't work. Perhaps she's just using the wrong word?
I think she's saying "Sometimes I'm nasty". And in fact this is just an excuse for a strange behavior every now and then. You know the girls...

I suppose that could be it... "I'm a scumbag in an unplanned sort of way"... so watch out!👁 Big Grin :D
ok, that makes sense to me. I thought it was that, but I wanted some help from birth language English... Hard to understand sentences, expressions... When you are just "good" in English... and not a native from the language. Then, thank you for the help!

That is how I would understand this.
Scumbag as Dimcl explained in #2.
Incidental - meaning occasional, now and again, short-term, unpredictable. The OED's first definition for incidental:
Occurring or liable to occur in fortuitous or subordinate conjunction with something else of which it forms no essential part; casual.
I may be a little off-balance at the moment, but I find this comment appealing - it suggests a laudable sense of honesty, self-awareness and self-confidence. There is something charmingly eccentric about the combination of styles, using incidental in the same sentence as scumbag.

I may regret this opinion later👁 Eek! :o
Hi Panjandrum,

Don't regret. I agree with you. I've heard similar expressions from Finnish girls during these years... or decades... and the main point is using a combination of high-class words and lowest slang that really beats you down. In Finnish as in English there are infinitely possibilities for that.
The thing is the girl whom say this is graduating in Litterature,

So i don't think so...
Then I think I got the meaning... Thank you for your precious help!
