- Is "inline skating" the same meaning as "roller-skating"?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Namlan

Roller skating traditionally has four wheels arranged in a rectangle on each boot whereas inline skating has two more more wheels installed linearly to more or less resemble ice skates.

Since inline skates have rollers, I guess they technically could be called "roller" skates, but normally there's a differentiation.
Inline skates are also called roller blades, for rollerblading.

I believe Rollerblades is a brand name for a particular brand of inline skates. It is used, however, as the generic name by many people, just as Jacuzzi is used for hot tub, even though it's also a brand name.
