intellectual inheritance

Human beings are born with many endowed natural abilities, no matter how one denies or does not believe. What to call those natural abilities? inherited abilities, endowments of birth, natural abilities..potential
Hello Dr. Appalayya. I think 'innate abilities' would work, depending of the area you are working on. When talking about language and language aquisitions, these abilities may be called 'innate mechanisms' which enable the child to acquire language.
"Innate abilities" sounds good to me, but "innate" is a word that wouldn't be understood by people who don't have a good vocabulary. "Inherited abilities" would be easily understood, but I would only use that if the person's parent(s) also possessed that specific ability. Otherwise, I would use "natural ability," "natural talent," or "ability/talent that he/she was born with."
I like "natural ability/talent" because it's often used when speaking of someone who exhibits what you are talking about.

P1: That boy can really play the piano!
P2: Yeah, he's a natural.

Another term for someone who is naturally gifted is "prodigy". Mozart was a musical prodigy.
