It's been a long time

How can I say "it´s been long time"? for instance: "it´s been long time since I bought new clothes".

Literally: 很久了 / 已经很久了.
But be careful not to do a word-to-word translation. It happens that we are having a long discussion on this in Chinese. Apparently different forms and positions of the expression must be applied when the thing is "still happening" / "not happening".
For example: "it's been a long time since I bought new clothes."
We usually say: 我已经很久没买新衣服了。 "I already long time not buy new clothes"
Notice that instead of saying "long time since somebody do something", we say "long time haven't done something".
