I've got another question ๐Ÿ‘ Smile :)

I know that "jewellery" is the things you wear for decoration but can I use it also as a "place" , e.g. "I left the jewellery at 8 o'clock"?

Thank you for the answers
Thank you for your answer.

And the place where you buy it?
"She left the ..... at 8 o'clock"
You may wish to buy your jewellery at the jeweller's, or alternatively, jewelry at the jeweler's.

I think the ll version is BE, the l version AE.

Hi Edgarg - in answer to your question..

You leave the jeweller's (shop)
Thank you both.
Note edgardg, that there are differences in spelling between AE and BE, and all your answers so far are from users of AE.
(I am not saying one is wrong and the other right, just that there are differences.)

(ops, I just read the rest and discovered others have already made that point...)
I usually say the jewelry store instead of the jeweler's
In which country (not Mexico presumably since you'd be speaking Spanish!!)? In the UK we say "shop" not "store", and "the jeweller's" would be more common than "the jeweller's shop".

I just said that I normaly use jewelery store when I make reference to the place where they sell jewelry, I didn't mean it was incorrect to say jeweler's shop or jeweler's, It's just what I would say in any english-speaking country, I am certain they would understand even though it may sound strange.

And I could say Jewelry store in Mexico in any town along the border, or in some towns in the coasts, and I am sure anybody would undertsand.
I don't know if other AE speakers would distinguish them in this way, but if I was going to a small store (or "shop", as timpeac calls it), and I actually spoke to the jeweler himself, I'd say I had been at the jeweler's. If it was a large store, such as you find in a mall, I would say I had been to the jewelry store.

To me, going to the jeweler's implies a small, family-run business that gives personal service, perhaps repair as well as sales, rather than a merchandising operation.
Can we say pieces of or a piece of jewellery? Yes.
What does it mean? Look in a dictionary.
