Jurer

Hi.

I would like to know the differences between "To vow" and "To swear". I saw that "to swear" means "jurer", and "to vow" (= to promise ???) means "jurer, promettre". So ...

These two sentences are saying the same thing ?

- "I swear to Mike that the job was for him."
- "I vowed to Mike that the job was for him."

Thanks in advance. 👁 Smile :)
