'led us'

Hello,

1. That young fellow led us to the zoo.

Does it sound right? (from speaking perspective)

What do I get from above sentence is that, "That young fellow helped us till we reached zoo"

So, here is my question, Does the above sentence really give us sense of the thing which I have written in color?
"Leading us" means showing us how to get there by going in front of us or with us. "Helping us" can mean more than just showing us the route. It might mean, for example, that he pushed our wheelchair or translated for us into another language.
