let alone

Hello, my friends,

I was wondering whether I was let alone in the correct way:

"I am awfully sorry that I depart in haste without telling you, let alone saying goodbye."

Thoughts: I want to say I even don't say goodbye to my friend before leaving.
I apologise to you that I didn't tell you I was leaving, and I certainly didn't have time/didn't want to/wasn't able to actually see/ring you to say goodbye.

Got it. Your version is very good. Do you mean we'd better not use let alone here?
It's easier to use it in contrast to not being able to do something else at all.
You could say "I had no time even to pack a suitcase, let alone say goodbye to my friends."

A- She told me she has to make a speech in Chinese.
B- She can't even speak English properly, let alone/much less make a speech in Chinese.
