Hello

Can we translate this sentence " Let’s see if we can figure out where the dirt is going" to German as following:

"Jetzt sehen wir an (oder Lass uns ansehen??), ob wir es herausfinden, wohin der Schmutz verschwindet."

Well, the basic question should be whether the use of "let us" can ve directly translated to German...

Yes, it can be directly translated.
"Lasst (uns) mal sehen/schauen, ob wir herausfinden, wohin der Schmutz verschwindet."

or if you're talking to just one person "lass" instead of "lasst".
A more idiomatical translation is just "Mal sehen, ob wir herausfinden, wohin der Schmutz verschwindet."
