I just learned about the lexical relations.When I do the exercises, I am not sure about how to classify binary antonyms, gradableantonyms, converses, reverses, hyponyms, meronyms, synonyms,polysemy or homonyms,such as (1) hyponym - hypernym(2) forwards - backwards (3) wrap- unwrap(4) expensive - cheap(5) bigger - smaller(6) minute – second (7) murder – be murdered by (8) to the right of – to the leftof (9) sleep – sleep soundly(10) transitive verbs – verbs (11) walk - crawl(12) suite – sweet(13) teach - learn (14) guest - host (15) begin - stop(16) defeat- lose to (17) give –receive(18) fill (verb) – empty (verb) (19) build (verb) – demolish (verb)(20) seed – fruit (21) jazz – music (22) innocent- guilty (23) predator - prey(24) colour (verb) – bleach (verb)(25) knight – night(26) open (verb)– shut (verb)(27) improve – deteriorate(28) book- pages (29) hide – conceal(30) darken - lighten (31) more – less
I'd need to know more about the nature of these exercises before tryingto help you. What sort of classification have you in mind, Huojing?
