J ai devant moi un manuel explicant le systeme de fermeture d un tiroir et ne je comprends pas bien la phrase suivante

"The front bracket has an integral block wedge and locking socket which hold the drawer firmly in position when closed"

Ma traduction serait : la poignee avant a un coin bloquant et une douille verrouillante qui maintient le tiroir fermement dans sa position quand il est ferme

Mon probeme est de comprendre "block wedge and locking socket "

The word socket is too general.

For example, I have an extension cord (rallonge) with a locking socket. It has a male plug end and a female socket end.

The female end is a locking socket. When an electrical device is plugged into the female end, I can activate a mechanism that locks in that device's male plug. This prevents the male plug from accidentally disconnecting from the extension cord.

Here is how the mechanism works. In North America the male plug has two "prongs" (broche) that are similar in shape to the end of a flathead screwdriver. In recent years, it has been the norm to manufacture the prongs with holes through them. As a result, when a male plug is connected to the extension cord, it is possible to activate a rod (tige) to go through these holes and immobilize the male plug.

Since a socket is a receptacle and is likely translated for technical elements most often as douille, why not call it a:
"douille verrouillable".
