Dear all
I looked all over, in my dictionary and on the internet how to say singular of "lover".
I know that "Die sterblich Verliebten" means in English "The mortal lovers" and it is the plural of lover
I figure out that the singular for the lover in German is "Verliebte" but I could not confirm it.
When I look into my dictionary I am getting Der Geliebter.
Sure Der Geliebter is the lover, but I want to make "lover" using the root of the word "Verliebten".
Also how is the female form of "lover", my guess would be Die Verliebterin?
Please help me.

Der Verliebte (male) or die Verliebte (female).

Though I'm not sure whether this is really the right word for "Lover". 👁 Wink ;)
It is for the lovers ( plural ).

Have I understand it correctly
It is correct to say for 'lovers" Die Verliebten but incorrect to use for the singular?

I'm not sure what you're getting at.
It's just that I think "lover" is more like "der Liebhaber", but "der Verliebte" isn't wrong of course.
