mangled PE header

Bonjour à tous,

In a description of how a type of malware functions, we have this sentence: "The valid PE header is replaced by a mangled PE header."

The "PE header" is easy--en-tête PE--but the typical translations for "mangled" like mutilé or laceré sound pretty comical. 👁 Wink ;)
I did check Google just to be sure, but not surprisingly, I couldn't find any hits for any translation for "mangled" that I could think of.

So, does anybody know of a standard phrase for "mangled header?" If not, maybe a word that would render the meaning?

Merci d'avance!

Literally, L'en-tête [d'origine] du fichier exécutable est remplacé par un en-tête déformé, but I prefer L'en-tête PE est altéré/modifié.

(For future readers : PE = Portable Executable)
