je n´arrive pas à trouver une solution pour medal event, dans cette phrase:

Donc je n´arrive toujours pas à trouver d´équivalence pour medal event. Voici un contexte plus long:

En effet, Benoit en a saisit l'idée, le football n'est devenu une épreuve dans laquelle une équipe peut gagner une médaille qu'en 1908. En 1904 on y a joué à St Louis, oui, mais sans qu'on y gagne de médailles.

Wikipedia a consacré un article au baseball dans le cadre des jeux olympiques. On y fait la distintion entre sport olympique et sport de démonstration. Est-ce un simple calque du français ???
