I hear French use the term "modulo" quite often, as if to mean "subject to". AN example in the press I found is: "Patrick Stefanini [ex-directeur de la campagne présidentielle de Valérie Pécresse et spécialiste de l’immigration] lui-même a dit que ce que nous faisions était bien, modulo quelques modifications".

However the wordreference entry just translates it as "modulo", which I haven't heard before (despite a year of calculus at university).

Do others agree that it could be translated differently?

sous réserve de quelques modifications (moyennant certaines modifications)
(il ne s'agit pas d'exclure certaines modifications, mais au contraire d'en faire quelques-unes
Il faut le comprendre comme "sans tenir compte de...".

Je crois que ça signifie plutôt "à condition de faire quelques modifications". En anglais on pourrait traduire modulo par : "provided" (mais il faut un verbe).

C'est une citation de Gérald Darmanin, dans un article de l'Opinion.fr intitulé "Gérald Darmanin: les coulisses d'un offensive".
This term comes from mathematics, where the sentence "1 and 11 are equal, modulo 10" means that the two numbers are equivalent (in the sense of "belonging to the same class") once adding 10 is a regarded as a free operation.

Regarding the translation, would it be correct to write "He said that what we were doing was fine, up to some modifications." ?
I would probably translate the end as "subject to some modifications".
