Hi there:

"He was wearing scruffy jeans and a Nix cap."

Nix cap here is it a Knicks cap?

Where does Nix comes from? I have made some searches, but the results I´ve got make no sense with this context.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers!
Thank you both.

This is all there is:
"He was wearing scruffy jeans and a Nix cap."

It´s a description of the way a character is dressed. Every time the story refers to him, it goes "the boy in the Nix cap".
Thanks again.
Sorry I cannot provide the source. It´s a book not yet published I´m translating. Sorry about that.
Cheers
However, you can still tell us if the character is from New York City, where the Knicks play; if the writer is American; and many other useful bits of information.

The only Nix that I know of is a shampoo for killing head lice. I don't think they actually make a cap for containing the vermin, but that's what it sounds like to me especially considering Nix is something you put on your head. You should ask the author and publisher if this is what they intend to suggest to their readers.
