Hello,

Can you tell me if its ok to use "governments supporting" in this sentence ?

" I completely agree that the benefits of governments supporting people
financially outweigh its disadvantages. "
It sounds fine to me, but I'd change "its" to "the".

The gerund phrase "governments supporting people financially" acts like a noun phrase, as object of the preposition "of".
The meaning is: When governments support people financially, this has certain benefits, and I completely agree that they (those benefits) outweigh the disadvantages of doing this.
