Offending program

Hello.
I'm reading Mafiaboy, by Michael Calce and I want to know in below text what does "offending" mean? It mean "offend Meaning in the Cambridge English Dictionary" or "offending Meaning in the Cambridge English Dictionary"?
"On a recent Sunday morning when Lew Tucker's Dell desktop computer was overrun by spyware and adware-stealth software that delivers intrusive advertising messages and even gathers data from the user's machine-he did not simply get rid of the offending programs"

Thank you.
That Cambridge definition of “offending” explains the meaning perfectly well:
unwanted, often because unpleasant and causing problems.

Thus it is "adjective" and can't mean "annoyed" ?
Yes, it’s an adjective. No, it doesn’t mean annoyed. It means “unwanted, so to be got rid of”.

Here’s a typical example of its use, taken from an online forum (the offending item being the stone):
I've just found a stone in my chicken ready meal! — Have you kept the offending item?

I guess "Aggressor" is wrong too.
Could "offending" here mean "intruding"? Cambridge Dictionary defines "intrude" as "to go into a place or situation in which you are not wanted or not expected to be." It is a fact that these spyware and adware applications intrude the computer.
This is a special idiomatic use. The normal definitions are not very relevant. The offending item (whatever that may be) means the aforementioned thing that’s causing problems in a particular situation.
