hi, i would like to ask one question. is this sentence correct: "i am playing football often."?
Well, I will write some dialog:

Peter: You can get a heart attack during football game.
John: Oh my God! I am playing football often. Should I be afraid of the heart attack?
Thanks for coming back with some context, Dodo👁 Smile :)
.

It's clear from your example that you're talking about a straightforward "habitual action in the present", in which case what you want is the present simple: I play football.

Rather than I play football often, we'd be more likely to say I often play football or I play football a lot.
From a US perspective: I play football a lot, or I play football all the time (the exaggeration is common)
And before anybody starts in on whether it's football or soccer - that's not the point. The question is about a conversational way to discuss frequency.
Thanks for your responses. So in the dialog that I have written is correct sentence: "I often play football."

Does exist any other situation when I can use sentence: "I am playing football often" or not?

No. If you say "I am playing football" you are playing it now. It is not a habitual action, so you cannot use "often".

By the way
You can get a heart attack during football game.
If you think that sentence is correct you need to search for previous threads on the use of the indefinite article. It would be off-topic to correct it in this thread.
