Hi,

What does the word "outreach" mean in the context of science and education?
Here's an example:
"The Origins program involves new and wide-ranging interdisciplinary research, teaching, and outreach focusing on all aspects of origins".
The sentence refers to the Origins Project of the Arizona State University.

Thanks!
'Outreach' usually means getting as many people as possible involved.
Do you mean the people from the institution or from wider community? Can it mean "involving the general public" or "informing the public of what we do"?
We can't really tell from the brief quote you provided; we'd need to see a full description of the program.

The quoted sentence concerns the Origins Project of the Arizona State University. But, as I read their homepage, I get it that it does involve the general public.
