Hi! Has any of you ever heard of this? Does it involve having people put away from society for fear of contagion (virus/attitude)?

Thanks!

Can you give us any context? The only thought that comes to my mind is that a savage stray dog (for instance) might be placed in police kennels for a quarantine period to ensure it is not rabid. I've never heard of quarantine being forced on a person by the police.
Please provide context and background; for example, the sentence it appears in and where you found it.

Quarantine means a usually temporary isolation to prevent the spread of disease. It could certainly be used metaphorically, but without context it is not possible to tell. It's not usually associated with the police however, it would tend to be imposed by the immigration service or public health authorities, although the police may involved for enforcement purposes in extreme cases.

A Google search for "police quarantine" gives many examples where "quarantine" is a verb rather than a noun. And it looks as if almost half of the hits for "police quarantine" involve language in which Homer Simpson saves "his family from police quarantine," a phrase seemingly taken from the same original source.
