Hello everyone,

Could you please tell me if the order of the words correct in the following title?

Polo, Marco (1254-1324)

Traveller and merchant, son of Niccolo, born in Venice, NE Italy. In 1271, he left to travel with with Nicolo and his uncle Maffeo to Cathay, now China.

Source: Sunrise11, student's book, page 58.

PS. I think it should be "Marco Polo" not "Polo, Marco". Is that right?

In a list of people (which this seems to be), it is quite normal not unusual to list the last name, followed by a comma, followed by the first name.
This order is used in encyclopedias and directories. It allows the reader to find people by their surname.

Famous people

Einstein, Albert
Mandela, Nelson
Disney, Walt
etc.

The comma indicates the unusual order. Usually we write the name without a comma, e.g. Albert Einstein.
