Hello,

I don't think I understand correctly the term "prose" in the following sentence. I'm not sure it is in the literal sense or is an expression. By the way, the text talks about the French philosopher Montaigne. Thanks in advance 👁 Smile :)


"For him, instead of a single, immutable identity, there was a fluid persona that could be captured in prose through rigorous self-analysis but never permanently pinned down."

It probably just means words. Through rigorous self-analysis, it could be described in words.
