Rake yourself

Whats the meaning of "rake yourself" in the mumford and sons' song little lion man? This is the part:

Weep little lion man,
You're not as brave as you were at the start
Rate yourself and rake yourself,
Take all the courage you have left.

Thanks
While Marcus Mumford has always declined to elaborate on the personal situation that inspired this song, it is clearly about a man who regrets his past behavior.

"Rake yourself" might thus be a variation of the idiom "rake over the coals" - revisiting or berating yourself over things that happened in the past that can't be changed.
I agree. "Rake yourself" is self-punishment of some kind, but probably just emotional, not physical.
