I have a question about "reproduction" in the area of publication. I think when it is said that an interview or artwork is reproduced in a magazine it means that the interview or artwork is converted into a new medium (print medium) and is in the magazine. But, when it is said that an article is reproduced in a magazine it means that it had been published somewhere else before (in the same medium) and not it is just . Am I right?

I mean, when a change of medium happens, reproduction usually means publication for the first time in the new medium, but when no change of medium happens, it means republication for another time in the same medium.
In this context, I’ve always known reproduced to simply mean copied (to appear in a publication).

I don’t even follow your explanation.
