Hi, native speakers of English!

I would like to know if the verb "to research" can be followed by "websites", e.g. I've been researching websites related to cars.

The idea I have in mind is I've been searching the net for websites related to cars and I was wondering if the verb "research" might work that way as well (I'm not absolutely sure my two examples mean exactly the same, though - do they?).

Thank you in advance.
Yes, it is correct to say that you have been researching websites... but you may clarify this by saying that you have been researching websites about cars or car websites. I think the latter is the best: I've been researching car websites.

Thanks a lot, Wordnip.

So should I forget about the bit saying "related to cars"? Your version (i.e. "car websites") sounds definitely simpler - and simpler usually means better. 👁 Smile :)

'I've been researching websites related to cars.' seems fine to me.

I think there is a small difference in your two examples though.
While 'searching the net for websites' you are still looking for suitable sites.
On the other hand 'researching websites' implies that you have found suitable sites and have been studying/reading their content.
Hope this helps?
