Hi, what does "run interference" mean? The context is a wife wants her husband to go shopping with her: Kurt- You go. What do you need me for? Roxana- I need you to run interference while I go for the best bargains and to hold all of the bags and packages while I shop. What else? Kurt- When I agreed to “for better or for worse,” I didn’t anticipate this!I asked a British, he said he never heard of "run interference". The phrase doesn't make any sense to him. What do you think? Thanks a lot.
