Hello, could anyone explain the meaning of this expression? Is it widely used?

Actually, the whole sentence is He just crapped little cubes of blue marble.

No, it sounds literal (albeit a rather crude way of putting it). Like he has eaten bits of marble, and they are now coming out the other end.
Actually, now that I think about it, it might be playing with another expression, "to shit bricks". Basically that means to freak out, throw a tempter tantrum, etc. For example, when daddy's little girl comes home drunk at 13 years old, Dad is going to shit bricks.

In the UK "to shit bricks" means "to be very scared" = "to be scared shitless" = "to be bricking it".

That said, if this blue marble business is meant to be a reference to that, I don't get it...
I know just what this means, it's exactly what happens to me about this time of year. You know-- huckleberry season. For some reason those things don't loosen you up the way other berries do.

It all started with that sentence I mentioned about the little cubes, but then I found many hits about s++t marble, as in Amadeus Mozart: "people so lofty they sound like they could s**t marble". I thought it might be like "arrogant".

Reference to the color blue could have something to do with another adjective we use for aristocratic people-- "bluebloods." I deny the part about us being arrogant or stuck-up, though. Our marble stinks like anybody else's.

It certainly could be. However, I've never read it or heard it. That reduces the odds by a little. About once a month, on average, I read an American expression here that was hitherto unknown to me. I won't s__t a brick over it, but this doesn't sound like a American expression.

Wild blueberry season--they are cousins to huckleberries--just ended here.
Defecatory habits being what they are, I never heard a soul make reference to marble, or to marbles.

Well, consider the defecatory habits of statuary. That's the point of "he thinks he shits marble," he's a paragon "on a pedestal" rather than flesh-and-blood like the rest of us. I've heard the expression-- also "she pisses nectar and shits ambrosia." Not sure why I had to change genders there.

Now that you mention it, the ambrosia reference is known in this corner of nowhere.

Yes, it means exactly that--to say of someone that he thinks he shits marble means that he thinks he's so much better than others that even what he shits would be valuable. It's not common, but it's used. Similar is: "He thinks he shits gold." The more American version of it is a little more direct--"He thinks his shit doesn't stink."

These phrases all mean that the speaker believes that the person of whom it's said is arrogant, and more than that, that the arrogance is absurd because it is not based on anything admirable, or even accurate.

After reading them, this is my conclusion:
I think that we foreigners sometimes see, read or hear an expression and think it must be something that everybody uses. However, sometimes it is just something someone says at a given moment, out of wit, inspiration or crazyness... So I guess these little cubes of blue marble could aswell be made of something else. The speaker said it just for the sake of it.
