Yanelle said:Hello, could anyone explain the meaning of this expression? Is it widely used?
Actually, the whole sentence is He just crapped little cubes of blue marble.
Thanks beforehand
Markus said:Actually, now that I think about it, it might be playing with another expression, "to shit bricks". Basically that means to freak out, throw a tempter tantrum, etc. For example, when daddy's little girl comes home drunk at 13 years old, Dad is going to shit bricks.

foxfirebrand said:Well, consider the defecatory habits of statuary. That's the point of "he thinks he shits marble," he's a paragon "on a pedestal" rather than flesh-and-blood like the rest of us. I've heard the expression-- also "she pisses nectar and shits ambrosia." Not sure why I had to change genders there.
You're thinking of aggies and cat's-eyes maybe?
Yanelle said:Thank you all.
It all started with that sentence I mentioned about the little cubes, but then I found many hits about s++t marble, as in Amadeus Mozart: "people so lofty they sound like they could s**t marble". I thought it might be like "arrogant".
It could also be an American expression.
