This one goes for soccer fans.

Context:

Union Jacks were taunted provocatively at passers-by with lots of SAS shouts:
We've got the SAS! We've got the SAS!

(reactions of supporters right before an England-Ireland soccer game taking place in Dublin).

What's the SAS?

If they were really referring to the Special Air Service they would heve been being extremely, if not dangerously, provocative, I would think.
And its connection with football....
Am i missing something here?

The original post referred to an England-Ireland football match in Dublin. That's why I mentioned that the chant was dangerously provocative,
