second conditional

Henry tells Sam that he invited some friends while his wife was gone, and one of them knocked over the wife's Chinese porcelain vase. Now he has to pick her up from the airport this evening and doesn't know what to do.
Sam: Man, have you tried...
Henry: ... super glue? Yeap, but she would be able to tell in a second I was trying to pull something over her eyes.
Listening exercise

Does using a second conditional means that he actually hasn't glued together the vase?
Thanks

Yes, that is correct. The "yeap" here is misleading, because it means (in my opinion) "Yes I thought of that", and not "Yes I tried".
