It's a rather old-fashioned slang term for teeth: Cassell's Dictionary of Slang dates it to between the 1920s and 1950s.
Choppers is also used in BrE, alongside gnashers and (many) other variations on a theme. As far as I know, snappers is no longer commonly used anywhere.In the US, it would have been "choppers".
