In a construction with additional heat insulation, the POROTHERM clay block takes over not only the static functions, but also those of sound insulation and heat storage. Source

Dear all,

I am translating an English article from a German website. Could you please tell me what "static functions" mean here? Thanks.

LQZ
Hello, LQZ. I read the text in your source. As far as I can tell, "static functions" here is talking about the POROTHERM'S normal insulating capabilities. In addition, it also insulates against sound and stores heat.

Thank you, owlman5. 👁 Smile :)

One more question: does insulating capabilities mean "insulating against heat'?
Well, LQZ. They are pretty confusing for anybody who isn't an engineer. "Static functions" are things that engineers and mathematicians talk about. It's possible that THERMOBLOCK has other "static functions", perhaps helping stabilize the entire wall or something. The text doesn't explain what those static functions are.
