storage hub

Hi,

I am not sure about usage of storage hub in the context of sports events, in particular Olympic Games in London.
One company which deals with provision of barriers to sports events says in its Power Point presentation that:

A full suite of Method Statements and Risk Assessments were produced to satisfy all operations across FOP, venues and storage hubs.

It means that along with provision of barriers for sports road events the company had to thoroughly plan its operations of barriers' instalaltion to provide for safe conduct of sports competitons.

Am I right that storage hub means place where equipment of sports competitions can be stored or it is some other place?
Yes, that is the meaning I would take.
Do you know who wrote that sentence? The use of the word "suite," though it is not specifically an error, and some other aspects of its style suggest that it wasn't written by a native speaker of English. "Hub" may be a direct translation from this person's native language, or another one.

That said, I think you understand it correctly. Specifically, since the topic is road barriers, I think it means the places where these barriers are stored. These are probably central locations, from which the barriers can be brought to the specific roads that must be blocked off.

I suspect that you are looking at business-ese BE. "A suite of" is quite popular as is "hub" for any point from which distribution takes place.
