Cosa vuol dire " strattonare" ?

" Ci sono i fotografi" dice lei."Presto vedremo una foto a piena pagina di Hubert che ti strattona. Una copertina perfetta per Star"

Grazie mille
It means to tug at someone in a forceful way, as if to drag them away with you or to make them tell you something/listen to you.
It conveys a vein of "violence" though, or at least the idea of physical strength used to "move" your body in a certain direction (even if it's just your mother pulling at your coat so that you don't cross the street when the streetlights are red!)

I think to yank might be a nice equivalent...

CdS dictionary gives 'shove' (push roughly) as a definition which also might fit the context. Spooky, does 'strattonare' mean both to push and to pull (yank)? 👁 Smile :)

Well, I think strattonare has a bit of both, 'cause it makes you think of a person being "shaken" by another... If someone "ti strattona", there's like a wrestle between the two of you: he/she pushes and you pull, and vice versa. Still, I think there's more pulling than pushing, in a "strattone" (mi ha dato uno strattone). No doubt about the rough bit, anyway! 👁 Smile :)

Thanks, Spooky. I suppose the only way one can be certain is to see the photograph. 👁 Smile :)
