successor

Hello,

Do you have to say
"He is the successor to his father as the President of the company." (family-owned private company)

or,

we can simplify it to
"He is his father's succesor to / of the company." or
"He is the successor to his father's company." (structure: somebody is the successor to the company)?

I don't think we can say "He is the successor to his father's company." You could say "He succeeded his father as president of the company," if you want.

Thank you for reminding me we can use the verb "succeed" in conveying the meaning.
