I read this in an answer given by a cancer expert on one of the forums.

Why do we need the definite article before "uncontrollable and unknowable?
We generally use the definite article when we use adjectives as nouns in this way.

The rich are happy, and the poor are sad.
His artwork features a combination of the old and the new.
He works with the underprivileged in his neighborhood.
His books address themes such as the power of the unspeakable.
I read this in an answer given by a cancer expert on one of the forums.
Out of curiosity, is the above grammatically correct? Does it sound natural?
