How do you say the weather say nice?

I put "le temps faisait beau" in a paper and my teacher says it was wrong but I'm not sure why.

I thought you were supposed to use imperfect with weather...

Would appreciate if someone could tell me what I've done wrong. Thanks in advance!
Welcome FrancescaRenaldo 👁 Wink ;)

There must be a typo in your question: do you want to translate the weather was nice? We also need more context to help you with the tenses.
Your imperfect if perfect.
On dit : Il faisait beau. We don't use "le temps" in such sentences.
Welcome to the forum, FrancescaRenaldo.

If you want to use « le temps », you could always say : le temps était beau.

Then again, while grammatically correct, I don't know why it sounds a bit awkward to my ears, while I wouldn't hesitate to say :
- le temps était moche / maussade / ensoleillé / pluvieux...

In any event, you may find this thread interesting. Post # 4 especially.
