To commit doping

Hello everybody

One of the wrestlers was banned from participating in international tournaments because he
I mean he used a banned substance which gave him extra power. This substance was revealed through urinalysis.

Is commit doping correct in English?

Thank you.
I agree with DT. Somehow "to commit doping" seems off.

I might say: to be found guilty of doping

... because he was found guilty of doping
Commit doping is not wrong, but I think it's not common.
However, you could say engaged in doping.

I agree with Dale Texas: "for taking/using a banned substance".
But then it would be better to write "One of the wrestlers was ..." in order not to repeat banned.
