Hello,

Does anyone know the Italian equivalent for "triage" - the process of evaluating the immediacy of patients' symptoms in a hospital emergency department?
Thanks for your help.
red, yellow and green are the colours of triage evaluation system.
i made a quick research in the Net (Italian sites). it seems we don't have a particular word for it and the term stays unchanged in Italian.

I guess it is difficult to evaluate symptoms of a patient by waste coffee 👁 Big Grin :D

, the term remains unchanged: it is Triage in Italian as well.
Just a note, there are two more colours beside the colours listed by winnie: they are cyan and its meaning is "not urgent", and white that means "not a case for E.R.".

I work in an hospital so you may be pretty sure of my arguments. 👁 Smile :)

Anyway, I guess that besides the technical(?) name of the process of such an evaluation, that action is translated by "valutare/valutazione 'urgenza".

In una situazione di emergenza(tornado), una donna che si sta dando da fare per curare le vittime dice "I started a triage".
Cos'è un triage? Come lo tradurreste?
Quando arrivi al pronto di qualunque ospedale italiano, la prima tappa è il triage dove un esperto giudica l'urgenza del tuo caso.

Il grado più alto è il rosso che significa: pericolo di vita, precedenza assoluta.

Altri colori indicano urgenze sempre minori sino a: mettiamolo tranquillamente in fondo alla lista.
