troubleshooting

Dear friends!!!

I would like to ask you about the technical term "troubleshooting" with regard to different systems. For example, systems that are responsible for transporting gas from one country to another, systems that are intended to monitor some parameter. Actually, any system at all.

My dictionary says that "troubleshooting" is the process of finding faults in hardware that cause a system to work erroneously. Does "troubleshooting" also mean that these faults are going to be dealt with?

For example: experts in troubleshooting. Are they responsible only for finding faults or for both finding them and dealing with so that the system will function successfully again?
