Hi everybody!

This summer during my holydays I met an America girl, she used to say a word that sounds like "tuff" to say hard, difficult. I have heard it at Dave Letterman's show as well, but I cannot find it in the dictionary.
I know it is not "tuff", but something that sounds like it.
It's almost certainly "tough." It means "hard, difficult" and it's pronounced "tuff."

English pronunciation can be tough!!
Oh, I'm sorry I didn't think of "gh" sound.
